3.0 策略

3.1退休状态。 名誉教授是在选定的教师离开大学时授予他们的荣誉称号。 这一地位承认与杰出教师保持有价值的联系的重要性，这些教师拥有重要的制度知识，并将支持大学及其学生的持续发展。

3.2 Factors for consideration. Selection of faculty members for emeritus status should be made considering factors that will serve the University’s purposes and can include, but are not limited to, the following:

3.2.1之上 永久脱离学校聘用的；

3.2.2 教员享有终身教职；

3.2.3 该教员在学生成就、教学、学术、领导、创新或服务等方面对学校作出重大或值得称道的贡献；

3.2.4 该教员表现出对职业道德的强烈承诺；

3.2.5 该教员长期为学校提供有意义的服务；

3.2.6 教师表示他们打算继续与大学合作，持续支持学生，并保持连续性和获得机构知识的关系。

3.3授予退休资格。 退休身份不会在退休或离开大学后自动授予。 教师可以向他们的院长申请这种状态，并作出如下决定。

3.3.1 The dean of the faculty member’s college must provide written documentation to the Provost supporting how the faculty member qualifies in accordance with this policy.

3.3.2 教务长将审查请求并向校长提出建议，校长将作出最后决定。

3.4的好处。 Faculty members awarded emeritus status retain their professional rank with "emeritus" added before their last held title. 他们也有资格享受PPM 3-45中概述的福利。
